With the huge success of MTV’s Jersey Shore, it’s no surprise that fans would be clamoring for a little more quality GTL (Gym, Tanning, Laundry) time with the shows breakout stars. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio and Jenni “JWoww” Farley are currently filming season 4 of Jersey Shore in Italy and are scheduled to return to Seaside Heights this summer to film a fifth season with their fellow Guidoes and Guidettes that could be their last.
Snooki, JWoww and Pauly D have all inked deals with MTV to star in their own 12-episode spin-offs set to air sometime in 2012. “We’re excited to put the spotlight on their lives away from the shore as they pursue their individual passions, careers and relationships,” Chris Linn, MTV’s executive vice president of programming and head of production, said of the spin-offs. “Both series are fun, fresh ways for us to evolve what is an already successful brand for us.”
The first spin-off will star BFFs Snooki and JWoww as they move into a $1.5 million house together. “It’s pretty much just the concept of me and Jenni being on our own without our roommates,” Snooki told MTV News. According to MTV:
“Snooks is finally moving out of her parents’ house and into a place with JWOWW—but she’s unprepared to deal with actual problems. The two have their sights set on a $1.5 million pad, but they don’t know what a mortgage is. Or how to write a check. Conflict erupts because Snooki ‘didn’t change the toilet paper.’ She also ‘ate a ton of JWOWW’s food.’”
Apparently the girls planned on moving into together after Jersey Shore, whether or not the cameras were rolling. “It was a concept before the show [was green-lit]. We legitimately just wanted to buy a house together,” JWoww revealed. “She wanted to get out of her dad’s, and I wanted to move out of the home that everyone could see on TV, so they were like, ‘Let’s shoot it!’ ”
Pauly D’s spin-off will follow the gel enthusiast jet-setting around the world as an in-demand DJ. “We threw around some ideas that maybe could be about my life, before the show and now after the show, maybe bring my entourage along,” he told MTV News. “It’ll be probably along the lines of, I used to be this DJ in Rhode Island, DJing two sets a week, hustling, promoting and all of a sudden, I’m on this show, and now they’re sending private jets for me to DJ for these huge crowds, yet I’m still the same guy that was DJing for 200 people, just loving life.”
“He’s distinguished himself onscreen as the fun-loving, well-coiffed and dependable guy you can’t help but want to hang out with,” said Linn. “We know viewers are curious about his life away from the shore, and we look forward to exploring new possibilities around that.”
